So the Large Hadron Collider went online today at CERN, and since the world was not destroyed, we can safely assume the doom-mongers were wrong, and it's not really going to cause the world to be destroyed. Then again, it's going to be several weeks before it's fully up to speed, so it's not over yet.

And then there are the plan to upgrade it at some point in the future to the "Super LHC", so you know.
Apparently, not everyone was informed of the fact that the doomsday predictions made were total crap, and the Indian media even made some big predictions of they're own, even to the extent of causing suicides. Which is a worrying state of affairs. I mean, everyone has a particle accelerator in their own homes these days in the form of a microwave, or a old one of those bulky TV's. You don't see people screaming about how your TV could cause a mini black hole and destroy the world.

If you weren't previously aware, and have been living in a cave, then you might not know that Valve has released the Orange Box today, Containing all of their previous games, including Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode 1, And the much awaited Episode 2. Also included is Portal, a puzzle-adventure game and Team Fortress 2, sequel to the Half Life 1 Mod.

Those who pre-ordered the orange box got a discount, and got to play Team Fortress before the official release date, so if you didn't, you missed out there.

Half-Life 2: Episode 2
This is a awesome sequel to Half Life 2, and Episode 1, following on perfectly and as always, it has next-gen graphics for lower end cards too, thanks to the highly optimised Source engine.
In a few words, Excellent, Involving Story, Next-Gen Graphics, and all new enemys, weapons, locations and vehicles

Portal
Portal's main feature is the "Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device" a weapon facilitating the creation of portals through space, enabling instant transportation. The game revolves around the main charecter solving puzzles, via the use of the Portal Gun.

Team Fortress 2
Team Based, Capture the points, Cartoon Style Violence. Nuff' said.

Due to some display issues at lower resolutions, i'm switching back to a basic unmodified skin for the site, till I can work out what is wrong.

Let me start by explaining what this book is about, by Reciting the blurb on the back :)

The wizard is not what he seems, his rule is opressive and he rules with a iron-grip and dorothy did, in-part bring the witches anger upon herself.

Learn about the adventures Elphaba has with Galinda at School in Shizz, and how she became the witch of the west.

All in all, this has to be the best book i've ever read, and probably still will be in years to come, and coming from someone such as me, with the amount of book I read, that's quite an honour.

Also, it's hit broadway musical, which I highly reccomend, but alas, I cannot review it as I am not at this present time able to go see it.

Well here it is, i'm starting up RP_Nuclear again, It being the most sucessfull of my projects, I have decided to begin again!

All fitted within a dense and somewhat creepy interior rich in detail and interactivity.

The stability issues have been fixed, making online play fun. The server crash on player kill has been fixed, and there is new media.

In this screen you can see the weapon HUD on the left, and the Unfinished Equipment HUD on the right. The weapon HUD has 49 Slots and weapon's are added in the order you pick them up. Obviously you cannot carry 49 weapons at once, so a weight system will be implemented depending on class chosen.

Also scoring has been implemented so you can play it properly. In the final we plan to have 2 Gamemodes, Team Death Match and Xones.
TDM will be played as normal, but Xones mode will feature the flags and bases system.

Just a small update on Xones, The cyberspace hacker mod that we've all been working on recently.

Ricky has been poking around the code to make it the best it can possibly be, pushing source to it's limits. But this comes at a price, to say that Xones_PA3 (Pre-Alpha) is stable, is like saying Uranium is stable.
So we're currently ironing out the bugs ready for PA4, which will add scoring.

The weapon HUD selection menus are looking awsome, with a cool sidewards scroll effect, also implemented is the flags and the flag capture points. You have to pick up a flag, and take it to the capture point, where it will jump into it like the plugs in HL2. Now just so you understand quite how much effort this took, consider that valve used 5-6 different entities in the map to achieve this effect. Ricky has manged to do it in just 2. The flag and the plug socket.
